August 2019 - Steel is easy to assemble and disassemble. The Bolívar apartment building in Almere Buiten was completed earlier this year. This building has four floors and 95 two-room social rental properties. The houses have a floor space of 50 m2 and are all equipped with a terrace or balcony.
Construction company H. ten Brinke & Zn. from Markelo supplied the steel main supporting structure for this apartment building. The gallery fences, the balcony fences with bars and with expanded metal, the inner fences with handrails and the privacy screens were also supplied and assembled by HTB. These fencing are hot-dip galvanised and have been given a two-layer powder coating by Rotocoat.
The balcony fences on the first floor are made of progressive expanded metal: the mesh size of the expanded metal increases from bottom to top. Because of this you have no view at the bottom, but you can see through it at the top. The 58 expanded metal panels supplied by Staco have been placed in front of the balusters so that the balconies look attractive and offer sufficient privacy at the same time.
