July 2021 - ABUS Kraansystemen is building new business premises on a large plot of 9,000 m2 in Nieuwegein. The building will house an office, a warehouse, training areas and an Experience Center.
The steel structure was provided by Van Rijbroek Staalbouw from Uden, who called on Staco to supply the galvanised steel gratings.
Staco steel gratings
Staco supplied type RR press gratings for this new building. They will be used as a walkway grating on the ground floor and as awnings on the first and second floors. A double grating layer has been installed on the first floor. Some of the press gratings were supplied with welded plates and some with clamps. The gratings were hot-dip galvanised by Rotocoat and so they have enduring protection from corrosion.
Awning gratings functional and stylish
The awning gratings are primarily intended to provide shade but, in combination with the glass facade, they also play a clear aesthetic role. The reflection creates the impression that the awning is much larger, giving the building more depth. Moreover, the reflection results in a stylish interplay of lines of light and shadow.
“The new building is located in a beautiful area. It is an excellent location in the centre of the Netherlands with a good infrastructure. And the majority of our employees come from the area,” explains Klaus-Peter Kauferstein, the general manager.
ABUS Experience Center
ABUS Kraansystemen is one of the largest manufacturers of hall cranes, industrial gantry crane systems, crane components and electric hoists worldwide.
The new premises are expected to open for business in mid-2021. Sales, service and logistics will be organised from here and the Experience Center will house demonstrations and training for various crane systems
